Why Every Kitchen Should Own One Very Bad Knife
It lives in the drawer with the twist ties. It came free with a set of steak knives in 2009. It will never hold an edge, and that is exactly why it is the most-used blade in my house: nobody is afraid to open a package with it, pry a lid, or hack at a frozen block of stock.
Good tools invite care. A bad tool invites use. A kitchen needs both.
